lying and telling the truth

When Sophie´s back side was all wet from the water she was surreptitiously taking from the bathroom to the outside, I asked her, why her bum was all wet. She said she pee-peed. She knew that it was humiliating, but that she wouldn´t get into any trouble--almost a smart cookie. I told her we were going to time out if she didn´t tell me the truth. She saved herself from the time-out chair. Now her dad is walking past the sidewalk where she wrote on it in marker. She's been up to a lot in the course of an hour. Annie
