Sophie has been taking her autonomy step by step recently. The other day she wanted to bike home 'alone'. Basically, that meant that she biked from school as I drove at a slow pace next to her.
After mastering that, she's been walking home alone. Again, she walks on the sidewalk, and her dad or I drive slowly next to her, without getting too close so as not to destroy the effect completely.
I'm thrilled to see that at once she wants to do things on her own, yet has some common sense. That will serve her well in life.
