Sophie's books come to life

In an earlier post, I mentioned how we’ve been doing a lot of animal sounds when we read books about animals. Last weekend we took Sophie to a petting zoo in Toronto. First came the chickens. They performed wonderfully clucking with clear, loud sounds. Then we saw a cow that mooed for her over and over—I think the poor cow just wanted to be milked really badly. In both cases, it was like they made sounds on cue: we’d walk up, and they’d start going to town clucking and mooing. She also liked the sheep, goats and horses. However, the little girl can only take about five different animals. After that, she gets animal fatigue and becomes squirrely (pictures to come later).
