Sophie has hands!

Yesterday Annie brought her down to work and we had lunch sitting in a central atrium area (overlooking the computer lab).

Sophie stood on my lap and looked at all the people. Whenever anyone would go by, she would stop what she was doing and track them--turning her head as they passed. So while she still shows no interest in squirrels or geese, people are interesting enough (and big enough) for her to watch.

Also, the big news: she's discovered her hands. She spent a lot of time grabbing one hand with the other and staring at them. Occasionally, it looked like she was pulling one hand up to her mouth with the other. Cute.

What with the feet and the hands and the watching people and the vocalizing, it was a long day yesterday. She was so active and did not seem to want to sleep. When she finally went down, she slept hard. She stirred a bit around 1:30 a.m. but then was out until 8:00 or so.

And then she woke up all happy and playful. Lovely!
