Her first cold :(

My poor little baby was making the most pitiable noises yesterday--snuffling and moaning.  Sad little potato would roll her eyes and whimper at us as if to say "fix this now please."

She didn't like being stuffed up, and she REALLY didn't like the nasal bulb syringe.

Being upright helped her drainage, but it's kind of hard to sleep like that.  We ended up taking turns sitting up with her for a large chunk of the night.  Leaning her back on my chest in the rocking chair at three a.m. worked wonders--she was semi-recumbent at an angle, so she was able to drain AND sleep.

The good news is that she was all happy and kicky and giggly this morning.  The bad news is that this is likely the first of many colds we'll have to endure before we've properly trained her immune system.   The internet tells me there are roughly 200 viruses which produce symptoms generally called the "common cold".

One down, one hundred ninety-nine to go.
