--with growing awareness comes a growing ability to be startled. Things that earlier would have passed over her in silence are now possibly frightening. Loud noises, sudden movements, etc. I now have to remember to announce my presence before pretending to be a bear that's about to eat her.
--feet. What's up with that? She stares at feet: my feet, her feet, other people's feet. Often this involves suddenly flinging herself forward to get into better feet-viewing position. This wreaks havoc on her already precarious balance.
--It used to be that we could put her car seat in a shopping cart and wheel her about the store thusly. Now she's taken to staring at us worriedly as she bounces over the sidewalk cracks and bumps at the threshold of the store--backwards and on her back. She doesn't like this; she should be upright an facing forward. Already we find ourselves taking her out and pushing the empty car seat around in the shopping cart. Soon she'll refuse this mode of travel all together.
